Panoramic photography is a technique of photography that captures images with elongated fields of view. It is sometimes known as wide format photography. An image showing a field of view greater than what the human eye can usually see may be termed panoramic. This is what makes panoramic photography so engaging, as it can showcase a view we wouldn't usually be able to see.
The term 'panorama' literally means 'all sight' in Greek.
